Research indicates that money actually can buy happiness — but it depends on how you spend it.
According to David Lee Roth, vocalist for the rock band Van Halen, “Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a yacht big enough to pull up right alongside it.” Similarly, a luxury car commercial states, “People who think that money can’t buy happiness simply aren’t spending it right.” These quotes contain some truth.
As an infant, just by observing the people around me, I observed when they would obtain money and a huge grin would spread across their face, the corners of their smile spreading from ear to ear.
Whenever I would see that grin and a person’s face light up at the sight of a crisp, green bill it would make me believe that I had proved the famous expression wrong.
