National Merit Scholarship Essay Prompt

Of the roughly 15,000 Finalists, around 8,000 will receive Merit Scholarships and various awards.

These Finalists are chosen statewide based on a combination of skills, the potential for success, and above all, academic achievement.

The information requirements are provided by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as soon as the Semifinalist announcements are made.

Here are the basic requirements for 2019: To help the reviewers get to know you, describe an experience you have had, a person who has influenced you, or an obstacle you have overcome. Use your own words and limit your response to the space provided.

Villanova University provides scholarship on the basis of students’ academic achievements, proven leadership, and participation in extracurricular activities – both in their schools and their communities.

All applicants also must have exemplary high school records, leadership roles, and active involvement through service to the community.

To apply, you must have already submitted a completed application for admission as a first-year student. Martin de Porres Scholarship application no later than February 1 and the required essay by February 7. Additional information will be sent to you via email once your completed application is received.
