Very helpful, I'd say write everything she writes on the board down :) Note: this course requires that you take time out of your day to learn the material on your own (read the slides/chapters, do practice quizzes, do the homework). She's friendly and will say hello to you if she sees you outside of class.Considering I am not even an accounting major, I think it's unnecessary. Accounting is a hard subject, Professor Abernathy can make it a bit easier. She's a good accounting teacher if you really need to take one(and you do).Because of common exams she does not give you a study guide and will tell you the test can be about anything you learned. Every ACTG 2110 is set up the same way as far as Common Exams being 80% of your grade.Like before, its a hard and boring subject but she's the best person to guide you through it! However, after going to the exam review sessions and seeing other professors explain the material, I'd say take Abernathy! She's also very methodical and that makes learning so much easier! This course may seem really hard & intimidating at first (so many will drop) but just know that there are soooo many resources. The class is a little dry at times, but it's accounting. I have always used this website to help me with my professor selections every semester, but I have never posted on my professors. You cover a great deal of material, but her syllabus will tell you exactly what to expect. I've been meaning to, but just never got around to it. This is her 2nd year teaching I believe, but still she does such a great job.Assignments: Weekly Connect homework, D2L quiz, and written homework over every chapter (CH 1-12).Connect homework & D2L quiz were usually due on Sundays & written homework in-class on Fridays. You have to type a bunch of numbers in and be specifically correct or its wrong. You will end up studying ALL her powerpoints and aplia problems anyway. The only good thing about the homework is that you can pull up the practice side by side and pretty much copy over to get a good grade (This is her last semester using Aplia.. The multiple choice always bombs me a letter grade down because they're questions you'd never expect to study.
